The U.S. dairy industry will see a new symbol with genetic evaluations – Powered by CDCB – when the information is provided by the Council on Dairy Cattle Breeding (CDCB). Use of this mark increases transparency in genetic evaluations, helping producers connect the quality and sources of information they use for breeding and management decisions.

CDCB was established to empower dairy producers for a sustainable future through data-driven innovation and collaboration. We began our journey with a significant advantage in 2013, thanks to the remarkable legacy and ongoing partnership provided by USDA AGIL, along with the visionary commitment of our founding collaborators.

In the August 2024 evaluations, implemented changes had effects on all yield traits (Milk, Fat and Protein) and Heifer Livability, along with correlated traits of Productive Life and Cow Livability in some cases. Breed Base Representation (BBR) values were updated, with the annual reference population update and introduction of a revised SNP list.
