CDCB announces a new service, QDisc, or quick discovery of close relatives.
This quick-turnaround service uses the ICAR-defined parentage SNP to discover close relatives. This is
appealing for genomic nominators and dairy producers that are solely interested in receiving or confirming
animal’s pedigree information, without receiving genomic evaluations or having the genotypes included in
the CDCB database.
The CDCB Board of Directors approved the QDisc service and related policy at its December meeting.
