Katelyn joined the CDCB team in March 2025 to expand the organization’s outreach efforts with dairy farmers and collaborators. Her responsibilities focus on creating and managing digital and print content to connect with CDCB stakeholders.
Katelyn grew up on her family’s Glen-Toctin Farm in Jefferson, Maryland, where she continues to help care for the herd of registered Holsteins. After serving as a Maryland FFA State Officer for a year, she went on to Virginia Tech to earn a bachelor’s degree in dairy science with a minor in communications.
She then spent five years on the editorial team at Hoard’s Dairyman, the national dairy farm magazine based in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. Katelyn lead coverage on topics including reproduction and genetics, worked closely with the annual Cow Judging Contest, assisted in the production of live webcasts, and coordinated with industry researchers and experts to bring practical information to dairy farmers. She visited dairies in 15 states and connected with many more through reader questions and interviews. She is committed to equipping dairy farmers with the tools to make the best decisions for their business. When Katelyn’s not working with cows or reading, you can find her baking, gardening, or enjoying a basketball game.
Milk, fat and protein yields are the primary drivers of dairy farm revenues.
