Dan Null

Senior Support Scientist

Dan joined CDCB as Senior Support Scientist in October 2025 after 20 years of service as an Animal Scientist at USDA. He has worked on many exciting projects, ranging from developing new strategies for identifying haplotypes to assisting with the development of new traits, and looks forward to continuing to address dairy industry challenges at CDCB. He holds a bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics from the University of Maryland.

Dan is a ninth-generation Maryland farmer who grew up on a dairy farm and showed dairy cattle in 4-H during his youth. He lives with his wife and four children on a small farm in central Maryland, where he enjoys teaching the 10th generation of farmers in his family how to be good stewards of the land.
